Graffiti art being an urban discipline, the artists from Day Off collective came with the idea of meeting natural elements and graffiti. Picking up high-definition 3D scans of rocks, branches and logs, we displayed the colorful letters on those natural canvases, lite and framed in a studio like environment.

Early version of procedural stones.
Early version of procedural stones.
Beside the 3D scans, I decided to create a set of realistic procedurally made stones for particles and rigid body simulations.
The main challenge was to bring the artists' designs on the 3D scans in a realistic manner. Starting from paper sketchs or digital drawings, the art has been brought in a texturing program to be added on the models. The overall focus was on bringing the imperfections that achieves a believable look of paint damaged over time.
